Darell Ray Tschacher of Eagle, ID, passed away peacefully May 2, 2017 with his loving wife, family and beloved dog, Chivas, by his side.

Born in 1945 to Lewis and Erma Tschacher, his early years were spent in Lusk, WY. Darell’s cowboy roots laid the foundation of a steadfast work ethic built from honesty, integrity, loyalty and perseverance.

Darell served his country honorably in the Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He was a fiercely proud veteran and patriot.

In 1966, Darell met and married his partner, best friend and soulmate of 50 years, Judie Evers Tschacher. Their epic journey would take them to California, Nevada and Idaho to work and raise their family. Darell took great pride in his businesses of Mortgage and Real Estate. He was an immensely hard worker and loved the art, finesse and strategy of closing deals. Darell had an entrepreneurial spirit and mentored many throughout his career. He retired in 2005, but never really stopped working. More recently, he and Judie traveled extensively in their RV, adventuring around the country. While they have wintered in Tucson, AZ for the last 10 years, Boise, ID was always home.

Darell is survived by his adoring wife, Judie Tschacher, of Eagle. He is also survived by his son, Kendall Tschacher of Denton, TX and daughter, Krystin Tschacher Leonhardt and son in law, Jeff Leonhardt, of Sacramento, CA.

Darell and Judie have 5 grandchildren: Libby, Abby, Sam, Zoey and Logan who love their Papa beyond measure.

Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Floyd Tschacher and sister in law, Donna Kay Tschacher, of Boise.

Darell and Judie have a tremendous circle of friends who have provided infinite support during these last months and beyond.

The family wishes to thank the Southern Arizona Veteran’s Administration Health Care in Tucson, AZ for their incredibly skillful and compassionate care. From doctors and nurses to food service and janitorial staff, Darell was always treated with the utmost dignity and respect. We are exceedingly grateful for the encouragement and guidance he was given with hopes of a full recovery and the kindness, sensitivity and endless warmth that we all were shown when his fight was over. His medical care was truly second to none. Please make any remembrances to a Veteran’s Charity in his honor.

The family will hold a Celebration of his Life July 22, 2017, in Eagle, ID.
