Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Callander taught school in Pennsylvania and southeastern Wyoming; and at Lusk, Manville, Douglas and Basin.

After her marriage to H.N. Callander the couple lived in Lusk for many years where Mr, Callander was president of the Bank of Lusk.

Mrs. Callander was the last member of a pioneer family who came from New England to western Pennsylvania when covered wagons and horses or yokes of oxen were the common means of travel.

Mrs. Callander was a sister of the late Mrs. Theron. S. Grant and among the nephews and nieces who survive is Mrs. Hanna Wright Kretzer who about 1920 taught the Ball school west of Keeline and now lives on the home farm in Pennsylvania.
