Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burhoop, Die Within Three Days of Each Other

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burhoop, residents of Manville for 55 years, died within three days of each other. Mrs. Burhoop, 85 died last Thursday and Mr. Burhoop, 84, died Monday. Both died of chronic infirmities of old age. A double funeral service was held from the Peet Chapel Tuesday.

The Rev. Bozart, pastor of the Lusk Open Bible Church, presided. Mrs. Hobart Cockreham, Mrs. Emerson Bonner, Mrs. Lyle Eddy and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro sang "Rock of Ages" and "In the Garden." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Bearers for Mrs. Burhoop were: Marion Rasmusen, Burt Jones, Fred Sheaman, Henry Stiles, Lee Stoddard, Raymond Jones. Bearers for Mr. Burhoop were: Al Knudsen, James Allsup, Chas. Dawson, Bob McDaniel, Art Whelan and Zeb Ward.

Robert Frederick Burhoop was born to John Henry and Rachel Anne Burhoop at Waco, Nebr. January 16, 1877. He was reared there and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1897. In 1897 he came to Wyoming.

Marie T. Johnson was born November 25, 1875 at Sheffield, Pa. to Peter and Charlotta Johnson.

Mr. and Mrs. Burhoop were married in Douglas, July 3, 1903. They operated the Ogalla Ranch near Douglas for three years. In 1906 they moved to Manville where he was engaged in ranching. Later he was in the mercantile business in Manville.

Mrs. Burhoop was an extremely activity member of Mariposa Chapter of Eastern Star at Manville. Not only was she a Past Matron of the Chapter but was a guiding-light in that organization until ill health kept her from active participation.
