Funeral services for Frances Dickau Mitchell, 93, were held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Tom Strock of the first Baptist Church in Lusk, Wyoming officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Frances Dickau Mitchell died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas.

Frances was born Saturday, November 21, 1925 in Kirtley, Wyoming, the daughter of Joseph Clarence and Rachel (Towl) Leeling. The family lived in the Kirtley community prior to moving to the Hat Creek area in 1928. They moved to Manville, Wyoming where Frances was raised and educated. She married Ivan Wayne "Bud" Dickau on February 14, 1943 in Alliance, Nebraska. She and Bud were involved with their agriculture interests in the Douglas area. Bud retired in 1984 and they moved to a ranchette on Chalk Buttes Road west of Douglas. In the fall of 1994 they moved into Douglas. She resided in Thermopolis, Wyoming for a period of time before returning to Douglas.

She was married to Kenneth Lee Mitchell in 1998 following the death of Bud.

She was survived by her children, Patricia Ann (Merle) Foreman of Cathlamet, Washington and Gary Wayne (Gayle) Dickau of Shawnee, Wyoming; her siblings, James B. Leeling, Alice A. (William) Vollman, Virginia M. Linneman, and Vera M. Stachan; grandchildren James McMahon and his wife Kelly McMahon and his wife, Travis (Amber) Dickau, and Jess (Bond) Dickau; and six great grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Leeling on March 17, 1951; mother, Rachel Leeling Schuricht, on January 27, 1990; husbands, Ivan Dickau, on January 23, 1998 and Kenneth Mitchell on April 19, 2015; daughter, Katherine Kay Sexton; and siblings, Eileen A. Allsup, Bernita B. Keiver, and Samuel A. Leeling.

Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Dickau, Jess Dickau, Gordon Lee Lineman, Bob Vollman, Brady Vollman, and Jared Vollman.

A memorial to the Ranchers Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
