Alick Cameron, 49, IPL Employee, Dies After a Brief Illness

Alick Cameron, 49 years old, attendant at the Illinois Pipe Line loading station west of Lusk, died at the Lusk Hospital Monday evening, January 3, after a brief illness, following an operation for the removal of a gangrenous appendix about a week ago.

He had been complaining for some time with abdominal pains, but had apparently delayed the operation too long and gangrene had set in.

Mr. Cameron and wife resided at the tank farm of the Illinois Pipe Line Company west of Lusk, and had lived there about three years. Before moving to Lusk, he lived at Lance Creek, and and prior to that time he lived in Casper, where the esteem in which he was manifest by the large number of friends who drove down from that city to attend the funeral services held in Lusk Thursday afternoon.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational Church with Rev. George Jenkins officiating and the pallbearers were employees of the Illinois Pipe Line from Lance Creek. The deceased was an ex-service man and the veterans of Lusk assisted with the burial service.

Mr. Cameron was born in Iverness County Scotland, March 6, 1888 and moved to the United States about 23 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mina, and a twin brother, Neal Cameron, of Casper. A sister in the state of Washington also survives him.

All those who knew Mr. Cameron speak in the highest terms of him and express profound regret that he should go while still in the prime of life.
