Cora M. Colligan

Cora M. Colligan, 80, a longtime area resident, died last Thursday at the Arvada Health Center in Arvada, Colo.

Mrs. Colligan was born in Frontier County, Neb., the daughter of Christopher and Amanda McKinney.

As a young woman she worked as a clerk in various stores before her marriage to Charles E. Colligan in 1921 at Indianola, Neb.

The couple homesteaded north of Douglas for a few years prior to moving to Lusk.

Mr. Colligan died in 1955, and Mrs. Colligan stayed here until 1978, when ill health forced her to move to Arvada.

She was member of the Congregational Church in Lusk and was a first aid instructor for the Red Cross during World War II.

Mrs. Colligan is survived by a daughter, Margaret Raynes of Arvada; a sister Mrs. Frank Ogorzolka of Brighton, Colo.; a brother, Jim McKiney of Joshua Tree, Calif.; three grandchildren; and many other relatives.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother.

A service was held Monday at Peet Mortuary, with the Rev. Frank Blish officiating.

Minerva Watson was the organist and Mark Lohr the soloist, songs were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art."

Burial was at Lusk Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Klemke, Archie Huey, Earl Quigley, Dean Leimser, Otto Krekeler and Paul Morgan.

The family prefers memorials to the senior center.
