Rick Jassman, age 75, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at University of Colorado Health Center with his children by his side after complications from leukemia.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lusk.

Rick was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Lusk to William and Maxine (Burkholder) Jassman. He was raised on the family ranch on Kirtley Road and graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1962. He worked for various ranchers in the area, Petrolane, and retired from Wyoming Women’s Center in 2011.

On March 3, 1972, Rick married Anita Poage and lived in the Keeline area until moving to his family ranch in 1975.

Rick had a passion for ranching, Hereford cattle, riding horses, and loved his church and family dearly. After his retirement from WWC, Rick could be found helping friends and family with ranch work, teaching Bible studies at WWC, and was just starting to help with the Historical Society and Museum when illness beset him.

Rick is survived by his children Tinette (Lee) Hales of Lusk, Jodi (Joe) Sorem of Brighton, Colo., Jennifer Jassman of Tulsa, Okla., and Lex Jassman (Erin Applegarth) of Lusk; and sister Carol (Gene Cowger) of Columbus, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, his parents, his brother, Robert (Bob) Jassman, and his granddaughter Breyden Hales.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the family, or a charity of your choice in Rick’s memory.
