Mary Ellen Lee

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Ellen Lee, 67 years old, who died at the home of her daughter in Midwest, Wyo., last Thursday morning, was held in Manville, last Friday afternoon, interment being made in the Manville cemetery.

Mrs. Lee had been a sufferer from a lingering illness for some time and suddenly became worse while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Ambrose Rea, at Midwest, passing away Thursday afternoon.

OBITUARY

Mary Ellen Long was born July 7th, 1865, at Troy, Iowa. She was married to Freed Lee, April 8, 1885, at Yankton, So.Dak., where they resided a number of years before coming to Manville, Wyoming.

To this union six children were born, Five of whom survive her. Frank Lee having preceded his mother in 1919.

Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, harry M. of Wamblee, South Dakota, George S. of Bakersfield, California, and Eugene of Lance Creek, Wyoming. Two daughters, Mrs. Ida Rea of Midwest, Wyoming and Mrs. Lizzie McCullough of Manville, Wyoming.

Two brothers, Charles and Fred Long of Clear Lake, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Theodore Reetz of Bloomfield, Nebraska, also survive her.

The deceased had been a sufferer from a lingering illness for the past several months and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ambrose Rea at Midwest, Wyoming, on Thursday morning, September 22nd, 1932, her earthly pilgrimage having attained 67 years, 2 months and 15 days. She lived an exemplary life and a host of neighbors and friends as well as relatives mourn her departure.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church of Manville, Friday afternoon, by the Peet Mortuary. Rev. B.F. Farrar, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lusk preached the sermon. Mrs. J.P. Watson and Mrs. Edna DeCastro sang most appropriately "Lead Kindly Light," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Jesus is Mine." Interment was made in the Manville cemetery, where the body awaits the resurrection's morn.

The pallbearers were C.L. Patton, H.B. Card, Bud Cantwell, Fred Kettler, Bob Burhoop and F.C. Grater.
