Pelitiah James Richards

Pelitiah James Richards was born near Cuba, New York, September 12, 1845. He emigrated with his parents to Wisconsin in 1856.In 1864 he enlisted in Company I, 42nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry and served until the close of the war.

On March 14, 1869 he was united in marriage to Mary A. Baldwin. To this union were born four sons: Charles, of
Keeline, Wyoming; William of Fullerton, Nebr.; Ralph, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Ernest of Keeline. His wife died November 5, 1894.

He was one of a family of 12 children. Two sisters survive him.

April 22,1903 he was united in marriage to Kate Norton, who survives him.

Early in life he made confession of faith and united with the church. he pioneered in Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming, leaving the fruits of his toil to the prosperity of the younger generation.
