The Lusk Herald, March 27, 2024

Chris passed away at the age 0f 48 on March 17, 2024, in Billings, Montana, following declining health. Born February 6, 1976 in Torrington to Glen and Donna (Penfield) Parmely,  the fourth child joining his siblings Trenda, Debra and Neil.

He began school in Lusk and attended BOCES in Gillette from the time he was seven until 18.  Following school, Chris resided at RENEW in Gillette.

Chris never knew a stranger. No matter what happened in his life, he was pure kindness, love and joy, the most genuine soul ever! Chris loved his family, riding his horse, country music (from Boxcar Willie to George Strait) and John Wayne.

He loved traveling, camping, swimming and vacationing with family and friends and the many motorcoach trips to Branson with his parents. He was always happy when he was going somewhere.

His special interests and activities included Special O, particularly bowling, swimming and races. He had a special place in his heart for the kids at St. Jude's Hospital. Chris insisted on donating to St. Jude's and never missed a month since 2004!

In December 2006, Chris's life was enriched greatly when he began living with his forever special Jolovich family gaining more friends and family than could have never been imagined.

Chris fit right in, traveling for barrel racing, high school rodeo and cutting. Following little brother Tryce and little sister TeAnna from Gillette and all over Wyoming, to Texas and beyond. When the pickup hooked onto the horse trailer and the horses loaded up, he was officially on vacation (even though it might be just down the road to the Camplex some days).

Joining their family, he gained Grandma and Grandpa Clemens, Tanner, Libby Misty, Cameron and Breanna (Tryce's girlfriend) and more. He loved going to THE CLEMENS' RANCH  where he gathered the eggs and visited the chickens first, went fixing fence and pushing calves up the chute at branding. Better yet, Grandpa had a boat. So, Keyhole here we come! Everyone could hear Chris on shore while he was boogey boarding in the middle of the lake.....Chris was a lucky man to have his two families to love and care for him.

Chris is survived by his mother, Donna Parmely; sisters Trenda (Kit) Moore and Debra (Danny) Lackey all of Thermopolis and his brother Neil (Tara) Parmely of Lamar, Colorado; Nieces Melissa (Andrew) Kiczek and Tanner Russell; Nephews Jerod (Jessica) Thompson, Travis (Rebecca) Moore and Tel (Ally) Parmely, and eleven great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Glen and his grandparents.

So many lives were touched by Chris. So many more loved and touched his life. To everyone that loved Chris and enriched his life, he genuinely loved you too.

A Celebration of Life in Lusk, Wyoming is planned for this summer.

Memorial donations may be sent to 1533 Owl Creek Road, Thermopolis, WY 82443. Our families plan to choose a local scholarship/ recipient of a local cause in his memory annually.
