Walter Lynn Lashmett

Walter Lynn Lashmett, 63, of Manville, Wyoming, passed away on April 13, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 25, 1962, in Lusk, Wyoming, and worked his entire life as a Foreman for Miller Enterprises Inc., where many of his friends recall a good story or two.

Walter found peace in simple things—early mornings by the water, time spent fishing, and being with his grandchildren. Fishing was where he felt most at home.

He enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found tinkering with his vehicle, tending his yard and garden, or grilling for family and friends. He loved the outdoors and had a curious spirit that led him to explore obscure landmarks. He also had a passion for photography and enjoyed sharing images from his travels around what he called “the Ville.” At home, he shared a close bond with his dog, Sophie.

He is survived by his son, Justin Lashmett, and his wife, Jamee and their children Ella, Amara, and Hunter; his daughter, Desiree Gray and her wife, Alyson and their children Vincent and Alexiel; and his daughter, Cherokee Lashmett and her husband James Fick; as well as his brothers, Duke Lashmett and John Lashmett, and his sister, Debbie Stanley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jewel Lashmett, and his brother, Peewee (Carl).

Walter will be remembered for his kindness, stubbornness, devotion to the people he loved, as well as his humor and the shenanigans he loved to pull.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium.

If desired, a memorial in Walt's memory can be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses. To honor Walter, spend time by the water, cast a line, watch the sunset, and share a good story from the past. He would’ve liked that.
