***************

Lisa May Bryant passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 26th in Fort Collins, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family, after a sudden severe illness.

Lisa was born to loving parents, Lydia and Ed “Eddie” Bryant, on August 24, 1969, in Bethesda, Maryland as the oldest of three children. After the tragic death of Lisa's mother in 1974, Lisa and her sister Katharina “Nina” and brother Eric were raised at various times by their father and his parents, Edward “Ed” and Virginia Bryant (formerly of Hat Creek, Wyoming). In 1983, her father married Susan Douds, adding two younger stepsisters, Jennifer and Emily, to the family. Ed and Susan settled in Toms River, New Jersey where Lisa lived for most of her remaining school years. After graduating from Toms River North High School in New Jersey, Lisa moved to Montgomery County Maryland to live with her grandparents, Edward and Virginia Bryant.

As a young child, Lisa especially enjoyed Summer trips with her grandparents, Edward and Virginia, to visit family and friends in Colorado and Wyoming. Roaming ranches and farms, exploring farmyards and animals, riding horses and looking for rocks in the Seaman Hills were activities she always looked forward to eagerly. Rock hunting and rock collecting was a special passion for Lisa throughout her lifetime, and she was known by many friends and family to provide gifts of beautiful stones and natural stone jewelry. She enjoyed spending time in nature, especially the mountains surrounding Laramie, Wyoming and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Rappahannock County Virginia.

As an adult, Lisa lived in Maryland, Virginia, Wyoming, and Nebraska. She made many good friends along the way, all of whom she cared about deeply. Lisa greatly enjoyed playing games of all types with both friends and family as she had a playful spirit. Despite the health difficulties which she experienced during the last half of her life, her kindness and sense of humor shined through. She was an extremely gentle and kind person who rarely remained upset at family or friends for long and she was quick to forgive human mistakes.

Lisa is preceded in death by her sister Katharina Freeman, parents Ed and Lydia Bryant, paternal grandparents Edward and Virginia Bryant, and maternal grandparents Rudolf and Antoinett Weigmann. She is survived by her brother Eric (Darcy) Bryant and family (Laramie, Wyoming), and many cousins, niece and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Viewing will take place at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, Wyoming on Friday June 5th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, and again on Saturday June 6th beginning at 9:30am, with graveside service and interment later on Saturday at 11:30am at the Lusk Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations of time or resources made in Lisa's honor to any organizations that support people living with serious mental illness. Examples of organizations currently helping the communities where Lisa most recently resided include Cirrus House in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Robbie's House in Laramie, Wyoming, but please feel free to support any other similar local community clubhouse or organization.
