Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 9 at 8 a.m.! The Niobrara County Library Foundation will be coordinating a yard sale that will feature items from the Elenor Johnson estate as well as items from others at 506 S. Pine. Proceeds will benefit the 3:1 Wyoming Public Library Challenge Program.

“Back at the Barnyard When No One’s Looking” will be shown on Thursday, August 7 at 1 p.m. at the library. Otis, a carefree cow, is put into a position of responsibility on the farm, when all he wants to do is party. Along with his friends Pip, Pig, and Freddy, he tries to have a good time, while avoiding letting the farmer see that he and his friends talk.

Betrayal tore apart childhood friends, Abigail and Lila. Now Abigail is a self-made successful cookbook author and TV personality and Lila, who came from a wealthy family, has suffered a tragic reversal of fortune and desperately needs Abigail’s help. Be sure to check out this new Eileen Goudge book, “Domestic Affairs” to see what Abigail chooses to do!

Other new fiction includes “Married Lovers” by Jackie Collins, “The Other” by David Guterson, “Fever” by Bill Pronzini, “Season of Strangers” by Kit Martin, “How to Knit a Wild Bikini” by Christine Ridgeway and “Fearless Fourteen” by Janet Evanovich.

New non-fiction books are “End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World” by Sylvia Browne, “Junk” by Melvin Burgess and “Mustang: the Saga of the Wild Horse in the American West” by Deanne Stillman.

A new young adult book is “Inside Girl” by J. Minter.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new books: “King of Murder” by Betsy Byars and “The Fire Eternal” by Chris D’Lacey. “The Creepy Cave Mystery” by Shelia Walsh and “The Elephant Quilt” by Susan Lowell and new in the easy fiction section.

“Cows!" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 and Thursday, August 7, 2008. Storyhour is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year.
