A huge THANK YOU is extended to: Ted Holman, Bob and Polly Johnson, Leslie Hammond, Mark and Kristine Groh, Jim and Rose Kremers, Traci Bruegger, Peggy Shannon, Danny Huizenga, Sue Ellis, Tina Christianson, Debbie Rose, Janice Hales, Leroy Redfield and Dean Pischel for giving their time and energy to the library on February 12. Gratitude is also extended to library staff, Yvonne Jensen, May Smith, Calla Canaday and Debbie Rose as they continue to provide library service even with disrupted routines and work spaces. The work continues on the Carnegie portion of the library to shore up the floors and it won’t be long before normality returns.

Monday, February 23 the film, “In America” will be shown at the library at 6 p.m. Participants will enjoy a meal as well as discussion facilitated by Deane Tucker, Professor of Humanities at Chadron State College. This film is the second in American Journeys: Border Lines in American Life series which is funded by the We the People Initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities and is sponsored in part by the Wyoming Humanities Council. A new fiction book is “Beat the Reaper” by Josh Bazell. A former hit man for the mob becomes a doctor after being placed in the Witness Protection Program. When a patient recognizes him, he does whatever he must do to try and save the patient’s life, thus his own.

Other new fiction books include “The Independence of Miss Mary Bennett” by Colleen McCullough, “Living Dead in Dallas” by Charlaine Harris, “A Promise of Spring” by Kim Vogel Sawyer, “Daemon” by Daniel Suarez and “The Outsider” by Ann H. Gabhart.

New adult non-fiction books are “A Journal for Jordan: a Story of Love and Honor” by Dana Caney, “No Limits: the Will to Succeed” by Michael Phelps and “The Healthy Woman: a Complete Guide for All Ages” published by the U.S. Department of Health.

A new young adult book is “Sea of Love” by Jamie Ponti.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “Star of Wonder” by JoAnn S. Dawson, “Secret Sabertooth” by Joseph Kchodl and “Annie’s Adventures” by Lauren Baratz-Logsted. New easy titles are “Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed” by Mo Willems and “Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes” by Mem Fox.

Friends is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, February 24 and Thursday, February 26. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten
