The Friends of the Library announced that professional puppeteer, Markie Scholz will be presenting the March Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the library. “In the Center of Things” is a puppet adventure sure to be enjoyed by all attending. Children will also be able to select their very own book to keep and children who missed the February program will be able to select two books! For more information call the library at 334-3490.

The Friends of the Library popular Dial-A-Story is once again available! Call 334-3274 to hear a story anytime.

A new fiction book is “On the Grind” by Stephen J. Cannell. After being charged with felony misconduct in a murder case, Shane Skully resigns as a detective for the LAPD and seeks employment at Haven Park P. D., a police department known for hiring rejects from other departments. Here he finds himself in a snare greater than he could have suspected and his estranged wife may be the only one to get him out alive, but is she willing?

Other new fiction books include “Kiss” by Ted Dekker, “Eclipse” by Richard North Patterson, “Plum Spooky” by Janet Evanovich, “Nemesis: the Final Case of Eliot Ness” by William Bernhardt and “Breakneck” by Erica Spindler.

New adult non-fiction books are “Fitness After 40: How to Stay Strong at Any Age” by Vonda Wright, “Who Would You Be Without Your Story?: Dialogues with Bryon Katie” edited by Carol Williams and “The Duggars, 20 and Counting: Raising One of America’s Largest Families – How They Do It” by Michelle Duggar.

A new young adult book is “3 Willows: the Sisterhood Grows” by Ann Brashares.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “The Hound of Rowan” and “The Second Siege” by Henry H. Neff along with “Wellspring of Magic” by Jan Fields. New easy titles are “The Lump of Coal” by Lemony Snicket and “Shiver Me, Shipwreck” by Brian James.

Celebrate Dr. Seuss is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, March 3 and Thursday, March 5. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
