The fourth film in the American Journey’s : Border Lines in American Life series will be shown at the library on Monday, April 27 at 6 p.m. “The Visitor” is a moving story about a recently widowed college professor who discovers a pair of illegal aliens living in his New York City apartment. Victims of a real-estate scam, the young couple are eventually invited to remain and unlikely friendships develop. This 2007 film stars Richard Jenkins, Haaz Sleiman, Danai Jekesai Gurira and Hiam Abbass and is directed by Thomas McCarthy. A free meal will be provided and a lively discussion will round out the evening. This series is funded by the We the People Initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities and is sponsored in part by the Wyoming Humanities Council. The NCL Foundation announced that Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available on Friday, May 1 at 7:30 a.m. at the library. Also on that day, Shreds Document and Record Destruction will be at the library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you have documents that you need shredded bring them by and Randi will take care of them for you. For every box shredded $5 will be donated to the Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge. For more information call the library or stop by the library.

A new fiction book is “The Millionaires” by Inman Majors. The Cole brothers are charismatic country boys with loads of money and to the dismay of the old guard have become some of the most important men in the state of Tennessee. All that stands
between them and grander ambitions is an investigation into how their bank made all that money so fast.

Other new fiction books include “Watch Me” by Brenda Novak, “Heart and Soul” by Maeve Binchy, “Promises in Death” by J. D. Robb, “Night and Day” by Robert B. Parker and “The Second Opinion” by Michael Palmer.

New non-fiction includes “A Saint on Death Row: the Story of Dominique Green” by Thomas Cahill, “The Secret to Life Transformation: How to Claim Your Destiny Now!” by Julie Chrystyn and “Bat Masterson: the Man and the Legend” by Robert K. DeArment.

“Hunted” by P. C. Cast is new for young adults and the Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new chapter books: “Brigadier: Gentle Hero” by Judy Andrekson and “Sleight of Dan” by Stefan Petrucha. New picture books are “A Wizard in Love” by Mireille Levert, “Bella & Bean” by Rebecca Kai Dotlich and “Are You a Horse?” by Andy Rash.

"Rain" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 30. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
