Doughnuts available on Friday, May 7at 7:30 a.m.

The Niobrara County Library Foundation will have Krispy Kreme doughnuts available on Friday, May 7 beginning at 7:30 a.m. Be sure to stop by and pick up your orders, there will be some doughnuts available to purchase if you did not order ahead. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be matched through the Wyoming Public Endowment Challenge; each dollar raised will be matched by $3! “Kill Zone” is a new military thriller by Gunnery Sgt. Jack Coughlin, USMC retired, who was one of the best snipers in the Marine Corps. An American general is captured in the Middle East and threatened to be beheaded by terrorists who speak American English. Marine sniper, Gunnery Sgt. Kyle Swanson receives orders to mount a top-secret mission to rescue the general only to fly into an ambush. How did the enemy have details of a mission known only to a few top American government officials?
Other new fiction books include “An Honest Love” by Kathleen Fuller, “The Pallbearers” by Stephen J. Cannell, “The Girl Who Chased the Moon” by Sarah Addison Allen, “Caught” by Harlan Coben and “Wild Ride” by Jennifer Cruise. “The Return: Shadow Souls” by L. J. Smith and “Alphas” by Lisa Harrison are new Young Adult novels.
Hugh Ambrose's newest book, “The Pacific” is available on the non-fiction shelf as well as: “Claiming Ground” by Laura Bell, “Labels, Leadville, and Lore” by Douglas H. Rhoades and “The Survivor’s Club: the Secrets and Science That Could Save Your Life” by Ben Sherwood.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new chapter books: “Gregor the Overlander” and Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane” by Suzanne Collins plus “Best Friends and Drama Queens” by Meg Cabot. New picture books are “Cat the Cat, Who is That?” by Mo Willems, 2010 Caldecott medal winner, “The Lion and the Mouse” by Jerry Pinkey and “Happy Birthday, Bertie” by Marcus Pfister.
"Flower Power" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, May 11 and Thursday, May 13. This weekly program is held from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
