There is space still available for the fall book discussion series, “Figureheads” which begins on Wednesday, September 1 with discussion of the book “Roscoe” by William Kennedy. The four-book series is sponsored by the Wyoming Humanities Council and will be facilitated by EWC instructor, Wayne Deahl. For more information contact the library at 334-3490.

Library card holders have full-access to all of the online resources, including downloadable eAudiobooks, legal forms and language learning programs, to just name a few. If you don’t have a card, bring proof of address and we’ll get you set up. The library hours will remain 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday throughout the winter.

“The Devil Amongst the Lawyers” by Sharyn McCrumb is the story about Erma Morton, a beautiful young woman with a teaching degree. Eager for a case to replace the Lindberg trial in the public’s imagination, journalists descend on the remote Virginian mountain community when Erma is charged with the murder of her father. Carl Jennings, a local journalist fresh out of college and covering his first major story tries to discover the truth – but, who will believe a local cub reporter whose stories contradict the nation’s star journalists? Other new fiction includes “Work Song” by Ivan Doig, “Ice Cold” by Tess Gerritsen, “The Templar” by P. C. Doherty, “Beachcombers” by Nancy Thayer, “The Mountain Between Us” by Charles Martin and “The Elusive Bride” by Stephanie Laurens. New on the YA shelf : “Infinity” by Sherrilyn Kenyon, “Procession of the Dead” by Darren Shan and “Foiled” by Jane Yolen.

New non-fiction books are “Misty: Digging Deep in Volleyball and Life” by Misty May-Treanor, “Women, Food, and God: an Unexpected Path to Almost Everything” by Geneen Roth and “The Get Healthy, Go Vegan Cookbook” by Neal Barnard M.D.

New titles in the Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library are: “Learning to Fly” by Suzanne Weyn, “Wonder Horse” by Emily Arnold McCully, “Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten?” by Audrey Vernick and “Ugly Pie” by Lisa Wheeler.

"All Aboard!" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 26. Effective September 1, 2010 we are returning to the once-a-week Storyhour format, Storyhour will be held each Tuesday and the Thursday program will be discontinued. This program is held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for children age three until they enter first grade.
