The film, Enron will be shown on Wednesday, September 15 at 6 p.m. at the library. This is the first of four films of the “Faces of Addiction” series funded by the We the People Initiative for the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Wyoming Humanities Council. A free light meal will be served and facilitators are Deane Tucker and Richard Patterson. For more information call the library at 334-3490.

Order your Krispy Kreme doughnuts today! This fundraiser is sponsored by the Niobrara County Library Foundation and the doughnuts will be available to pick up at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, September 17. Glazed doughnuts are $8 and the mixed dozen is $9.00. A new fiction book is “Fly Away Home” by Jennifer Weiner. When Sylvie Serfer met Richard Woodruff she was in law school. Decades later she has remade herself as the ideal politician’s wife. Her younger daughter, Lizzie, is a recovering addict. Her older daughter, Diana is an emergency room physician and is trapped in a loveless marriage. When Richard’s extra martial affair makes headlines the three women are drawn into the painful glare of the national spotlight and each is forced to reconsider her life, who she is and who she is meant to be.

Other new fiction books include “Rules of Betrayal” by Christopher Reich, “Courting Morrow Little” by Laura Frantz, “The Rembrandt Affair” by Daniel Silva, “Queen of the Night” by J. A. Jance, “They’re Watching” by Gregg Hurwitz and “Promises to Keep” by Jane Green. “Education of Bet” by Lauren Baratz-Logsted, “Tweet Heart” by Elizabeth Rudnick and “Linger” by Maggie Stiefvater are all new young adult fiction.

“Wyoming Range War: the Infamous Invasion of Johnson County” by John W. Davis is now available on the nonfiction shelf as well as “The Lakotas and the Black Hills: the Struggle for Sacred Ground” by Jeffery Ostler and “Cowboy Ethics: What Wall Street Can Learn from the Code of the West” by James P. Owen.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has this new junior book: “Stage Fright” by Meg Cabot and added this picture book: “Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes” by Mem Fox.

"Hats Off" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Storyhour is held each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for children age three until they enter first grade.
