Have you been using the Virtual Library for your ebook selections? Effective July 1, 2014 the consortia will include six Wyoming libraries: Niobrara, Natrona, Platte, Sheridan, Sweetwater and Lincoln. This is exciting news as it will allow our collection to grow, however there are some changes to how the library works in that several publishers don't allow their books to be sold to a consortia - that doesn't mean they aren't available though. Please sign in to your account before searching and if you are not finding what you had previously seen please do not hesitate to let us know. We are very happy to add titles that are suggested if they are available for purchase. There also may be few days for us to adjust the collection with these changes, please be patient with us.

Also coming this fall - downloadable video, music and books will be available to Niobrara County Library patrons! We are excited to be able to offer this, so watch for more information in the coming weeks.

Dusty Crophopper is a little cropduster plane with a fear of heights and a crazy dream of being a racer in the movie "Planes" which will be shown on Thursday, July 10 at 1:30 p.m. Dusty gets the training he needs and qualifies for the Wings Across the World race. In the face of all obstacles, the winner of this air race will be anyone's guess. The film is rated PG and 91 minutes; the library provides the popcorn, but please bring your own drink.

A new novel is "A Paris Apartment" by Michelle Gable. April Vogt, Sotheby's Continental furniture specialist is told about an apartment in Paris that has been discovered after being shuttered for the past 70 years. Once in France, April finds the apartment is not merely some rich hoarder's repository - it is a gold mine and not because of the furnishing and paintings, but the letters and journals of Marthe de Florian. The documents reveal that Marthe was more than a renowned courtesan and April sets out to discover the story behind this charismatic woman.
