Plan now to attend the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 25. The book sale and a book signing featuring Doris DeSersa Johnson will begin at 8 a.m. in
front of the old jail, just to the east of the library. Doris will have copies of her local history book "A Story of Lusk: the first 100 years." The Ice Cream Social fundraiser is slated to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the north side of the library lawn. Homemade cakes are featured so be sure to stop by.

Summer reading is underway, if your child didn't get signed up it's not too late, be sure to call or stop by the library. Activity sessions are held each Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. through July 13 for children that have completed the first through fifth grades. "Dragons, Dreams & Daring Deeds" is the theme for this fun program.

New books in the adult library include "The Breakdown Lane" by Jacquelyn Mitchard, "The Innocent" by Harlan Coben, "Superstition" by Karen Robards, "Heartbreak Hotel" by
Jill Marie Landis, "Last Call for Blackford Oakes" by William F. Buckley, Jr., "Can't Get Enough" by Connie Brisco, "A Lotus Grows in the Mud" by Goldie Hawn. "And One More Thing Before You Go" by Maria Shriver "Don't Kiss Them Goodbye" by Allison DuBois and
"Secrets and Mysteries of the World" by Sylvia Browne.

For the young adult, there is "Dream Race" by Robert Clark.

Our junior readers will enjoy "The Curse of the GloamGlozer," "Storm Chaser," "Beyond
the Deep Woods,"
and "Midnight Over Sanctaphrax" by Paul Stewart.

Our younger readers will enjoy "Bug Safari" by Bob Barner and "Duck for President" by Doreen Cronin.

"The First Day of Summer" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, June 21. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for children age three through kindergarten.
