Storyhour children were entertained by a circus clown this week.

Doris DeSersa Johnson will be at the library on Saturday, June 25 to sign copies of her book, "The 1st 100 Years: a Story of Lusk." The book is a look back at the man, Frank Lusk; the early days of the town of Lusk and its people as well as their businesses, organizations, religion and homes. Please be sure to stop by and get your copy. The Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale and Ice Cream Social will also be held Saturday, June 25.
The Foundation is putting the finishing touches on the upcoming "No Limit Texas Hold-em" tournament to be held on Saturday, July 9 at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds. Wednesday, June 29 the independent film "Let the Church Say Amen" will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at the library. The American film by director David Peterson follows four church members from a tiny Washington D. C. church as they endeavor to combat street violence, unemployment and homelessness and work to fulfill their dreams for a better life.
Summer reading is underway, if your child didn't get signed up it's not too late, be sure to call or stop by the library. Activity sessions are held each Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. through July 13 for children that have completed the first through fifth grades. "Dragons, Dreams & Daring Deeds" is the theme for this fun program.
New books in the adult library include "Blown" by Francine Mathews, "Mystic Quest" by Tracy Hickman, "In the Company of Cheerful Ladies" by Alexander McCall Smith , "Nothing Less Than Love" by Janet Mills "Midas" by Russell Andrews, "Countdown" by Iris Johansen, "Being Perfect" by Anna Quindlen, "Suzanne Somer's Slim and Sexy" by Suzanne Somers, "Diabetic Chef" by Franklin Becker and "Sweet Gratitude" by Judith Sutton.
For the young adult, there is "The Teacher's Funeral" by Richard Peck.
Our junior readers will enjoy "The Ravenmaster's Secret," by Elvira Woodruff, "Ida B..." by Katherine Hannigan and "The Dark Hills Divided" by Patrick Carmen.
Our younger readers will enjoy "When Washington Crossed the Delaware by Lynne Cheney and "Pinduli by Janell Cannon.
"Dragons is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, June 28. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for children age three through kindergarten.
