The library will be closed on Monday July 4, 2005 for Independence Day. Normal library hours resume on Tuesday.
Thank you all for your support of the Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale and Ice Cream Social last Saturday.
There is still room if you haven't gotten your ticket yet for the "Texas Hold-em" fundraiser. This fundraiser will benefit the Niobrara County Library Foundation Endowment and will be held on Saturday, July 9. Wednesday, June 29 the independent film "Let the Church Say Amen" will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at the library. The American film by director David Peterson follows four church members from a tiny Washington D. C. church as they endeavor to combat street violence, unemployment and homelessness and work to fulfill their dreams for a better life.
New books in the adult library include "Oh, My Stars" by Lorna Landvik, "Midsummer Nights" by Janet Mills, "Broken Prey" by John Sandford , "Trial by Fire" by D. W. Buffa, "Out of Range" by C. J. Box, "Twelve Universal Laws of Success" by Herbert Harris, "No Mountain High Enough" by Linda Armstrong Kelly, "Rescuing Your Teenager from Depression" by Norman T. Berlinger and "How to Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life" by Kirstie Alley.
For the young adult, there is "The Realm of Possibility" by David Levithan and "The Princess Present" by Meg Cabot.
Our junior readers will enjoy "The Best Halloween Ever" by Barbara Robinson and "Esperanza Rising" by Pam Munoz Ryan.
Our younger readers will enjoy "Jungle Drama" by Graeme Base and "Science Verse" by Jon Scieszka.
"Cowboys & Indians" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, July 5. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for children age three through kindergarten.
