The library will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7, regular hours resume on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The Niobrara County Library is now offering Homework Help on Wednesdays. If your children have questions be sure to stop by the library. Staff members, Cindy Linneman and Calla Canaday will be on hand to assist in a variety of subjects for children in the elementary through high school grades. For more information call 334-3490 or stop in at 425 S. Main.

The fall session of afterschool programs is underway. If you haven't yet registered, call or stop by soon! Mondays are scheduled for grades K-2 and Tuesdays for grades 3-5 and both programs feature stories, activities and crafts about the humorous sides of dragons.

Mark your calendars now for Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m. The musicians Kerry Grombacher and Aspen Black will be performing at the library and will take you on a musical journey through the American West. Plan now to attend!

Wyoming author, Cat Urbigkit is featured as the One Book Wyoming author this year. Copies of her book "Shepherds of Coyote Rocks" is available at the library for you to read and pass along. Cat will present a program at the library on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m.

A new fiction book is "Love Lies Beneath" by Ellen Hopkins. Once a widow and twice divorced, Tara prefers to keep to herself and she's content to live alone in her Russian Hill mansion. Then she meets Cavin Lattimore, the surgeon who operates on her after a ski accident at Lake Tahoe and their relationship blooms into something she never imagined. But, when some strange and suspicious incidents happen, Tara, housebound and on crutches, finds that she is dependent on this new man in her life - perhaps to a dangerous degree.

Other new fiction books are "A Blessing for Miriam" by Jerry S. Eicher, "Untamed" by Diana Palmer, "The Naked Eye" by Iris and Roy Johansen, "The Angel of Antioch" by Daniel Molyneux, "All the Single Ladies" by Dorothea Benton Frank, "Those Jensen Boys" by William W. Johnstone, "Refining Fire" by Tracie Peterson and "The English Spy" by Daniel Silva. For the young adult there is The Grisha Trilogy: "Shadow and Bone," "Siege and Storm" and "Ruins and Rising" by Leigh Bardugo.

New nonfiction books are "The Physicist and the Philosopher: Einstein, Bergson and the Debate That Changed Our Understanding of Time" by Jimena Canales, "Recovering Joy: a Mindful Life after Addiction" by Kevin Griffin and "Learn to Paint in Acrylics with 50 Small Paintings" by Mark Daniel Nelson.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, "Billy Sure, Kid Entrepreneur and the Stink Spectacular" by Luke Sharpe, "Catie Conrad: Faith, Friendship, and Fashion Disasters" by Angie Spady and "Mick Harte Was Here" by Barbara Park. A few new easy titles are "Biscuit Visits the Big City" by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, "Let's Get Cracking!" by Cyndi Marko and "Arrow to Alaska" by Hannah Viano.
