The Friends of the Library will be holding their annual Christmas Cookie and Candy Sale on Wednesday, December 9 from 3-6 p.m. at the library. Cookies and candy are for sale by the pound and you can make your own selections! There will also be pre-made trays to make your selection even easier! The Friends of the Library also have copies of their cookbook for sale and some Usborne greeting cards are also available. Be sure to stop by and check it all out!

Have you thought about learning a new language? Check out Mango Languages, available at no charge through the library. Just find the Mango logo on our homepage, or http://gowyld.net. Mango is an online language learning system for more than 60 languages that teaches real conversation skills for practical communication. Through fun and engaging interactive lessons, including film-based programming, Mango makes learning a new language fast, easy and incredibly effective. A new holiday novel is "Dashing through the Snow" by Debbie Macomber. Ashley, a graduate student in California, desperately wants to spend the holidays with her family in Seattle. Dashiell, a former army intelligence officer, needs to get to Seattle for a job interview. Every flight is booked and there is only one rental car available. The two reluctantly decide to share the car but neither anticipates the wild ride ahead.

"Half Yard Christmas: Easy Sewing Projects Using Left-Over Pieces of Fabric by Debbie Shore is among new holiday nonfiction books along with the Taste of Home's "Holidays & Celebrations: 467 Recipes for Every Occasion edited by Janet Brigg and a bit of humor with "Spending the Holidays With People I Want to Punch in the Throat: Yuletide Yahoos, Ho-Ho-Humblebraggers, and Other Seasonal Scourges by Jen Mann.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new holiday junior books, "A Shiloh Christmas by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor and "Clementine for Christmas by Daphe Benedis-Grab. New easy holiday titles are "Santa is Coming to Wyoming by Steve Smallman, "How to Catch Santa by Jean Reagan, "Reindeer Wish by Lori Evert, "Click, Clack, Ho! Ho! Ho! by Doreen Cronin and "Reindeers are Better Than People by Calliope Glass.
