The library will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2017 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr./Wyoming Equality Day. Regular library hours resume at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the 17th.

Be sure to stop in and check out the DelRea Photography exhibit through January. A reception will be held for the artist, Jessica Stallman on Wednesday, January 18 at 5 p.m.

"The Secret Life of Pets" will be shown for the Early Release movie on Friday, January 20 at 1:45 p.m. The film is 90 minutes and rated PG, the library provides popcorn, please bring your own drink.

A new novel by Marcia Clark is "Blood Defense." Samantha Brinkman, an ambitious L.A. criminal defense attorney, lands a high profile double murder case in which one of the victims is a beloved T.V. star – and the defendant is a decorated veteran LAPD detective. Notorious for living by her own rules, Samantha pulls all the stops in her quest to clear the detective. Then a shocking secret at the core of the case makes her realize that not only has the client been playing her but he might be the most dangerous sociopath she's ever encountered.

Other new fiction books are "The Trail West" by William W. Johnstone, "The Cottage" by Michael Phillips, "The Creeping Shadow" by Jonathan Stroud, "Lovers and Newcomers" by Rosie Thomas, "Pharaoh" by Wilbur Smith, "The Award" by Danielle Steel, "Night School" by Lee Child, "Maria Ines" by Anne Schroeder and "No Man's Land" by David Baldacci. A new title for the young adult is "Heartless" by Marissa Meyer.

"A Death in the Islands: the Unwritten Law and the Last Trial of Clarence Darrow" by Mike Ferris is among new non-fiction along with "Deep Life: the Hunt For the Hidden Biology of Earth, Mars, and Beyond" by Tullis C. Onstott.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, "Children of Exile" by Margaret Peterson Haddix, "The Best Man" by Richard Peck and "Dog's Best Friend" by James Patterson. A few of the new easy titles include "Pickles and the Blue-eyed Javelina" by Candace Lea, "A Well-Manned Young Wolf" by Jean Leroy and "I Don't Want to be Big" by Dev Petty.
