The project was created by first-time filmmaker Georg Joutras. A light meal will be served.

Upcoming Early Release films include “Small Foot” on Friday, January 18 and “Goosebumps 2” on Friday, January 25. The films show at 1:35 p.m. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink.

“Fire & Blood” is the newest novel by George R.R. Martin. Centuries before the events of “A Game of Thrones” House Targaryen – the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria – took up residence on Dragonstone. This book begins the tale with the legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and goes on to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold that iconic seat, all the way up to the civil war that nearly tore their dynasty apart. This book is also available on CD and digitally through Overdrive/Libby and the 3M Cloud Library and in digital audio format through RB Digital.

Other new fiction books include “Before It’s Too Late” by Sara Driscoll, “When Winter Comes” by V.A. Shannon, “Red War” by Vince Flynn, “Cowboy On My Mind” by R.C. Ryan, “When We Were Young” by Karen Kingsbury, “The Thirty-One Kings” by Robert J. Harris, “A Season of Grace” by Lauraine Snelling, “Beauchamp Hall” by Danielle Steel and “Lethal White” by Robert Galbraith. Among new young adult titles is “Someday” by David Levithan.

“How to Stop Feeling So Damn Depressed: the No BS Guide for Men” by Jonas A. Horwitz and “Creating Art Quilts With Panels” by Joyce Hughes are among new non-fiction titles along with “The Slow Cooker Baby Food Cookbook” by Maggie Meade.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, “Spy School Goes South” by Stuart Gibbs, “Break Into the Internet” by Carla Jablonski and “Lifeboat 12” by Susan Hood.
