Photographer Tara Cole’s pieces will be on display at the library throughout the month of November. A reception with the artist will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at 5 p.m. Tara has been in the Lusk area for the past nine years and is excited to share her passion for capturing memories. Be sure to stop by and visit with her on November 6!

Beginning Tuesday, November 5 and continuing on Tuesdays and Thursdays the library will host “Holiday Crafting” from 3:35 to 4:45 p.m. for all ages. The focus will be holiday decorations and gift giving and the program continues through Thursday, December 12. Call the library at 334-3490 to reserve your space!

Friday afternoon movies will be held on November 1 with “Trolls,” November 8 with “Angry Birds,” “Angry Birds 2” will be featured on November 15 and “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” rounds out the month on November 22. The movies all begin at 1:15 p.m., the library provides popcorn; please bring your own drink.

Susan Wiggs’s latest novel is “The Oysterville Sewing Circle.” Carolyn Shelly returns to Oysterville, Washington, a place she thought she had left forever. In the back seat of her car are two orphans: five-year-old Addie and six-year-old Flick. She is now their legal guardian – a role she’s not sure she’s ready for. She joins the sewing circle where women support each other. Then as Caroline and the children begin to heal from their loss, a new threat tests her courage and her heart. The book is available on CD and also through RB Digital.

Other new fiction books are “A Wedding on the Beach” by Holly Chamberlin, “Healing Hearts” Sarah M. Eden, “The Girl Who Lived Twice” by David Lagercrantz, “A Vineyard Summer” by Jean Stone, “Texas Forever” by Janet Dailey, “Ghost Fire” by Wilbur Smith, “Cut and Run” by Fern Michaels, “Forever and a Day” by Linda Lael Miller and “All Out War” by Sean Parnell. A new young adult book is “The Best Lies” by Sarah Lyu.

A new graphic novel is “RWBY: After the Fall” by E. C. Meyers along with these new non-fiction books “Nighthawk Rising: a Biography of Accused Cattle Rustler Queen Ann Bassett of Brown’s Park” by Diana Allen Kouris and “The Farmhouse Culture Guide to Fermenting: Crafting Live-Culture Foods and Drinks with 100 Recipes from Kimchi to Kombucha” by Kathryn Lukas.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “My Fate According to the Butterfly” by Gail D. Villanueva, “The Poison Jungle” by Tui T. Sutherland, and “The Root of Magic” by Kathleen Benner Duble. A few of the new easy titles include “Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas” by Aaron Blabey, “The Rainbow Mystery” by Jennifer Dussling, “Mighty Reader and the Big Freeze” by Will Hillenbrand and “Clever Trevor” by Sarah Albee.

“Voting” is the theme for Storyhour on November 5, 2019. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year! Call 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. The Friends of the Library sponsor Dial-A-Story.

Through the app, RB Digital, library card holders have access to thousands of audio books as well as hundreds of magazines! These items can be downloaded for offline listening and reading as well. Stop by the library for more information about this resource - available to you at no charge.
