19,495 pages were read during the annual Summer Reading program held at the library! 21 children participated in the “Discover New Trails at Your Library” and had the opportunity to learn about the Lewis and Clark expedition. Thank you, Breanna Bredthauer for volunteering and helping Yvonne with the program.

Football books are here. The Niobrara County Library Foundation has upped the winnings to $30 per game – for more information stop by the library!

Registration is now being accepted for the book discussion series “Rural in America” which is slated to begin in September. This program is sponsored by the library with funding from the Wyoming Council for the Humanities.

New books in the adult library include “The Taking” by Dean Koontz, “On What Grounds” by Cleo Coyle, “Together is All We Need” by Michael Phillips, “In the Moon of Red Ponies” by James Lee Burke , “Song of Susannah” by Stephen King, “Killer Smile” by Lisa Scottoline, “Liars and Thieves” by Stephen Coonts, “Blow Out” by Catherine Coulter and “5 Square Low-Carb Meals:” by Monica Lynn.

For the young adult there is “Flipped” by Wendelin Van Draanen.

Our junior reader’s will enjoy “The Troll King” and “The Troll Queen” by John Vornholt, “Granny Torrelli Makes Soup” by Sharon Creech, “Wishes, Kisses and Pigs” by Betsy Gould Hearne and “Saffy’s Angel” by Hilary McKay.

For our younger readers, there is “The Big White Ghost” by Gail Herman, “Let’s Build” by Jane Chapman, “What Makes a Hero” by Irene Trimble and Oh Bother! Someone Didn’t Say Thank You” by Sheryl Berk.

“See What’s In the Sea” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, July 20, 2004. Storyhour is held each Tuesday throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for children 3 through kindergarten.
