Yvonne is busy preparing the 2005 Summer Reading program, “Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds!” Children that will have completed the first through the fifth grades are invited to join the program which will run from June 8 through July 13. The program focuses on keeping your children reading through the summer through theme based programs and weekly activity hours. Watch for registration information, coming soon.

If you’ve been doing your spring cleaning and have books you would like to donate to the annual book sale be sure to bring them by. The Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale and Ice Cream Social will be held June 25.

New books in the adult library include “The Lost Mother” by Mary McGarry Morris, “Nightcrawlers” by Bill Pronzini, “Light Before Day” by Christopher Rice, “Otherwise Engaged” by Eileen Goudge, “Killing Kelly” by Heather Graham, “The Lunatic Cafe” by Laurell K. Hamilton, “Lightning Strike” by Donald Davis, “Custer’s Wolves and Custer’s Ifs” by Adrian E. Hirst, “Great Garden Designs” by Tim Newbury and “French Women Don’t Get Fat” by Mireille Guiliano.

Our junior readers will enjoy “Runny Babbit” by Shel Silverstein, “Wounded Knee” by Neil Waldman as well as a new Graphic Set with titles like “Sinking of the Titanic,” “Salem Witch Trials,” “Curse of King Tut’s Tomb” and others.

“The Shape of Things” is the theme for the next Storyhour on Tuesday, May 10 at 10 a.m. This
program is held every Tuesday throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m children 3 through kindergarten.
