It’s time for the Niobrara County Library Foundation’s Monday Night Football 2005-2006 season. The books will be available to pick up at the library the week of August 15 or contact a foundation member. The payout for weekly winners is $30.00. For more information call the library at 334-3490.

This past fiscal year the library averaged 60.33 patrons per day and an average of 97.11 items were circulated each open day. 234 children and adult programs were held between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005 with an average of 63 children and adults participating in a program each week! 2,639 items were added to the library collection; of this number 1,879 were added by donation, either individual gifts, in memoriam or through grants. The remainder 760 items were added via the library materials budget. “The Western: the Greatest Texas Cattle Trail” by Gary Kraisinger.

For the young adult, there is “Changes in Latitude” by Will Hobbs.

Our junior readers will enjoy “Stranded” by Ben Mikaelson, “The Sister of the South” by

Emily Rodda, and “Surviving Aunt Marsha” by Sofie Laguna.

Our younger readers will enjoy “On Earth” by Brian Karas and “Don’t Play With Your Food” by Brian Rock.

“Kangaroos” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Storyhour is held every Tuesday throughout the year for children ages three through kindergarten.
