Winners of the Niobrara County Library Foundation raffle are Judy Hamaker and Cindy Starkey. Michael Tucker drew the tickets at the library on Friday, September 22 and the quilt went to the Hamaker home. Cindy Starkey was the second ticket drawn and took home the crocheted tablecloth. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped with the raffle. Over $600 was raised for the Foundation’s endowment fund.

Thursday, October 5 at 6 p.m. the third “Faces of Family” program will be held at the library. The film, “White Oleander” will be shown and discussion will include participants at the Wyoming Women’s Center. A meal, provided for by the Friends of the Library, will also be available. Plan now to attend! The last program in this series will be held on Monday, October 23.

New books for the young adult include “Pretties” by Scott Westerfeld and the “Montmorencey” series by Eleanor Updale.

Junior readers will enjoy “Lily’s Pesky Plant” by Kirsten Larsen, “Quiet on the Set” by Nancy Krulik and “Jess” by Mary Casanova.

Our youngest readers will be sure to like “Welcome to Zanzibar Road” by Niki Daly, “Ancient Thunder” by Leo Yerxa and “Mr. Putter & Tabby Spin the Yarn” by Cynthia Rylant.

“Fire Safety” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, October 10 at 10 a.m. A special guest will be part of the program so be sure to stop by. Storyhour is held each Tuesday for children that are three through kindergarten.
