Plan to attend the film, “Spitfire Grill” on Wednesday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at the library. This presentation is the fifth of six films in the “Snapshots of Society” series and includes a light meal. Discussion will also be linked to participants at the Wyoming Women’s Center via audio.

Registration for summer reading is now underway. Be sure to stop in and register your child for this fun summer program. Summer movies will also begin Thursday, June 7 at the library and will continue each Thursday at 1 p.m. throughout the summer!

The Friends of the Library are busy preparing for the Annual Book Sale and Ice Cream Social to be held on Saturday, June 23. If you have books you would like to donate please drop them by the library. Proceeds from the book sale help to purchase new books for the library.

Sydney is struggling to start over after being divorced and widowed. She begins tutoring the daughter of a wealthy couple and finds herself caught up in a bitter family squabble in “Body Surfing” by Anita Shreve. Other new fiction includes “The River Knows” by Amanda Quick, “Simple Genius” by David Baldacci, “All Together Dead” by Charlene Harris, “Full Scoop” by Janet Evanovich and “Red Chrysanthemum” by Laura Joh Rowland. New non-fiction includes “Old Guns and Whispering Ghosts: Tales and Twists of the Old West” by Jessie C. Hardin and “How to Photograph Absolutely Everything: Successful Pictures From Your Digital Camera” by Tom Ang.

Our young adults will enjoy “Blue Bloods” by Melissa de la Cruz and “Gone” by Kathleen Jeffrie Johnson.

New books in the Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library include the chapter books, “How to Speak Dragonese”, “How to Cheat a Dragon Curse” and “How to Train your Dragon” by Cressida Cowell and “On the Wings of Heroes” by Richard Peck. Some new picture books are “The Dumpster Diver” by Janet S. Wong, “There’s an Octopus Under my Bed” by D. Ross, and “Happy’s Big Plan” by Krista Earhart.

Storyhour is held all year long, “For The Birds!” will be the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 and Thursday, June 8, 2007. Storyhour is also held every Tuesday and repeated on Thursday from 10 to 11 p.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
