Writing @ the Library begins on Monday, September 22 at 1:30 p.m. This 3-week series will continue on Monday, September 29 and Monday, October 6. If you’ve been doing some writing or would like to begin, be sure to come by and learn some tips and tricks from local author, Bev Haynes.

Wednesday, September 24 Computers @ the Library will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. “What’s Inside?” is the topic for this session. Time will be allocated for questions and answers as well. Be sure to come by and get the inside scoop from local computer technician, Tyrel Lohr.

Sunday hours (12-5 p.m.) have returned to the library! Bring the family and browse for a bit. The library collection continues to grow – last year 77% of the items added were a result of donations and grants. Currently funds are being expended from the 2006 Wyoming Library Funding Amendment, the NCSD Recreation District and Decker’s Receipts.

A new fiction book for adults is “Time is a River” by Mary Alice Monroe. Rehabilitating from breast cancer in a North Carolina mountain sanctuary; Mia London discovers the lost journal of a 1920 fly-fisher woman, whose writings inspire Mia to reconnect with the natural world and investigate a local secret. Other new fiction books are “The City in the Sky” by Max Brand, “Fractured” by Karin Slaughter, “The Assassin” by Stephen Coonts, “Red Sky in the Morning” by Patrick Culhane and “Lie Down With the Devil” by Linda Barnes.

New adult non-fiction books are “The Time Paradox: The New Psychology of Time That Will Change Your Life” by Philip Zimbardo, PhD., “Citizen McCain” by Elizabeth Drew and “Measure of the Heart: A Father’s Alzheimers, a Daughter’s Return” by Mary Ellen Geist.

New young adult books are “Marked” by P.C. Cast and “The Killer’s Tears” by Anne-Laure Bondoux. Did you notice the new section just for young adult materials? Check it out!

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “Treasure in Tahiti” by Connie Lee Berry, “The Sausage Situation” by Darrel Odgers and “Gravity Buster” by Frank Asch.

New easy titles are “Horrible Harry and the Goog” by Suzie Kline, “Snoring Beauty” by Bruce Hale and “Buffalo Music” by Tracy E. Fern.

“Fall” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 and Thursday, September 25, 2008. Storyhour is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year.
