Great news for owners of the Amazon Kindle eReaders – Wednesday, April 20 Amazon and OverDrive (the library digital company that will provide ebooks for our library) announced that Kindle Library Lending will be available with OverDrive. As we announced last week our library will have eBooks available this summer for our library patrons to ‘checkout’ – later this year Kindle will one of the devices that will also work with this program. Have you ordered your Krispy Kreme Doughnuts? This is a fundraiser for the Niobrara County Library Foundation and you can order either plain ($8) or mixed ($9) doughnuts that will be available to pick up on Friday, May 6 beginning at 7:30 a.m. For more information contact the library, 334-3490.

A new fiction book is “The Four Ms. Bradwells” by Meg Waite Clayton. Mia, Laney, Betts and Ginger have been best friends since they were nicknamed the “Ms. Bradwells” during their first class at University of Michigan Law. They have supported each other through life’s many challenges. Now Betts is up for an appointment to the Supreme Court and the Senate hearings have uncovered a deeply buried skeleton in the friends’ collective closet – one that stirs up secrets they have kept for, and from, one another and could change their lives forever.

Other new fiction books include “Alter of Bones” by Philip Carter, “Sing You Home” by Jodi Picoult, “Rock Bottom” by Erin Brockovich, “Pacific Glory” by P. T. Deutermann, “The Linen Queen” by Patricia Falvey, “Family Storms” by V. C. Andrews and “Deadly Vows” by Brenda Joyce. New on the YA shelf is “The Adoration of Jenna Fox” by Mary Pearson.

New non-fiction books are “You Think That’s Bad: Stories” by Jim Shepard, “West of the Bozeman Trail” by Robert Twing and “Townie: a Memoir” by Andre Dubus II.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “The Puzzle of the Paper Daughter” by Kathryn Reiss and “Gruesome Ghosts” by Barbara Mitchelhill. New easy titles are “Join the Rebels” by Catherine Saunders and “Blast Off!” by Rob Coslon.
