We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has donated items for either the library collection or the annual booksale and everyone who has donated via fundraising and
volunteer time. It is our hope that our library is providing services and programming that you find fit your lifestyle and needs; please, do not hesitate to let us know if there is something you are looking for and not finding or if you have programming ideas that would better suit you.

The Friends of the Library are members of the program, OneCause – this is an online program where you can support your favorite cause through your online purchases. Check it out at OneCause.com, select your cause (Niobrara County Library) and then shop your favorite merchants. A percentage of purchases are then donated back to the cause. Donations made to the Friends of the Library help with children’s programming and other library events as well as purchase materials and renew subscriptions.

A new book by Thomas Kinkade is “The Wedding Promise.” Lisa Martin has booked her first major event at her newly opened Inn on Angel Island – a June wedding. The bride, Jennifer, met her finance on the island when they were teenagers and she always dreamed of being married at the Inn. Lisa wants to give Jennifer her dream day, but she can’t help noticing the tension between the bride and the groom. She keeps hoping that everything will come together, but on the day of the wedding a storm rolls in and the groom is missing.

Other new fiction books include “The Silent Land” by Gardner Joyce, “Minding Frankie” by Maeve Binchy,“A Heartbeat Away” by Michael Palmer, “The Marriage Artist” by Andrew Winer, “Night Road” by Kristin Hannah, “The Name on the Wind” by Patrick Rothfuss, and “The Peach Keeper” by Sarah Addison Allen.

“Battle of the Bands” by N. B. Grace is new for Young Adults. Several new fantasy books are on the shelves as well that will appeal to a wide range of ages.

New non-fiction books are “150 Knit & Crochet Motifs: Anything-But-Square Shapes for Garments, Accessories, Afghans, and Throws” by Heather Lodinsky, “Affirmed: the Last Triple Crown Winner” by Lou Sahadi and “Physics of the Future: How Science Will Shape Human Destiny and Our Daily Lives by the Year 2100” by Michio Kaku.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books “Aloha, Kanani” by Lisa Yee, “The Wizard of Ooze” by R. L. Stine, “Jedi Heroes” by Clare Hibbert and “Diego’s International Rescue League” by Tina Gallo.
