“The Secret World of Arrietty” is the first of the summer afternoon movie series which begins on Thursday, June 7, at 1:30 p.m. Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their home from items that they borrow from the house’s human inhabitants. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty. The 94 minute film is rated G; the library will provide popcorn but please bring your own beverage.
John Grisham’s new novel is “Calico Joe.” In the summer of 1973, Joe Castle from Calico Rock, Arkansas was the boy wonder of baseball, the greatest rookie anyone had ever seen. Calico Joe quickly became the idol of every baseball fan in America including Paul Tracy, the young son of Mets pitcher, Warren Tracy.
