Don’t forget, the library is now open on Sundays from Noon to 4 p.m.!

The Friends of the Library are planning a Christmas Cookie and Candy Sale to be held on Wednesday, December 5 at the library from 3-6 p.m. Homemade goodies will be available to purchase by the pound, so stop in for a cup of hot cider and get your holiday baking out of the way!

Have you tried Zinio yet? Downloadable eMagazines are available to read on a variety of electronic devices and currently the selection includes over 50 titles. A small sampling of the titles include: Consumer Reports, Outside, Spin, Bloomberg Businessweek, National Geographic, Car and Driver, Horse and Rider, Seventeen and Every Day with Rachael Ray. A new book by James Patterson is “NYPD Red.” It is the start of the Hollywood on the Hudson festival with many celebrities in town. The special task force NYPD Red is on high alert. This is only the beginning of the most brutal, public, and horrifying crime that sends all of New York in chaos and puts NYPD on the ropes.

New adult non-fiction books are “Isabelle and Leonardo: the Artistic Relationship between Isabelle D’este and Leonardo DaVinci, 1500-1506” by Francis Ames Lewis, “500 Days: Secrets and Lies in the Terror Wars” by Kurt Eichenwald and “Vintage Cakes: Timeless Recipes for Cupcakes, Flips, Rolls, Layer, Angel, Bundt, Chiffon, and Icebox Cakes for Today’s Sweet Tooth” by Julie Richardson.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new titles “Lula Walks the Dogs” by Judith Viorst, “Caught” by Margaret Peterson Haddix and “Third Grade Angels” by Jerry Spinelli. Some new picture books are “Little Elephants” by Graeme Base, “Heckedy Peg” by Audrey Wood and “Penny and Her Doll” by Kevin Henkes.
