The Niobrara County Library Foundation has been given a hand-pieced quilt by the Bag Ladies. This quilt will be offered as a silent auction fundraiser with the winner announced on Saturday, June 28. Stop by the library to view this very impressive hand-pieced Dresden Plate quilt and to make your bid.

“OneBookWyoming,” featuring Craig Johnson’s book “Spirit of Steamboat” is kicking off with the showing of Longmire’s first episode from the first season of the television series. Bring your lunch and join us at noon on Tuesday, June 17. Book discussions are slated for July and August, be sure to sign up for those by dropping by the library.

Summer library programs for children are in full-swing. “The Lego Movie” will be showing at the library on Thursday, June 19 at 1:30 p.m. The film is rated PG and is 101 minutes. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink. Lego Time is every Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and movies are each Thursday at 1:30 p.m. throughout the summer. Stop in and check out the other programs!

The President has the opportunity to take down a global menace in David Baldacci’s new book, “The Target.” If the mission fails, he will face certain impeachment, and the threats against the nation will multiply. He turns to the one team that can pull off the impossible – Will Robie and Jessica Reed. However there are some in power who will do anything to see that the two operatives succeed … but not survive. This book is available on cd as well as through the Virtual Library.

Parker’s Cheap Shot” by Ace Atkins, “Thankful” by Shelly Shepard Gray and “Field of Prey” by John Sandford. One of Darren Shan’s newest titles, “Zom-B: Mission” is now available in the YA section.

New adult non-fiction books are “Hidden Like Anne Frank: Fourteen Stories of Survival” by Marcel Prins, “Common Core Standards For Parents For Dummies” by Jared Myracle ED. D., and “The Backyard Homestead Book of Building Projects” by Spike Carlson.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “The Traveler’s Tricks” by Laurie Calkhoven, “Half a Chance” by Cynthia Lord and “The Mark of the Dragonfly” by Jaleigh Johnson. New picture books include “Miss You Like Crazy” by Pamela Hill and “Curious George’s A Home For Honeybees” by Margaret Rey.
