Jerry Barlow, acclaimed Celtic fingerstyle guitarist will be performing at the library on Sunday, November 2 a 1:30 p.m. Barlow’s performance incorporates favorite traditional pieces as well as his own Celtic-inspired compositions. Be sure to stop by!

Karen Kingsbury’s new book is “Angels Walking.” One time national baseball hero Tyler Ames has lost his only love, Sami Dawson, on a quest to make it to the big leagues. He takes on a maintenance job at a retirement home and finds friendship with an elderly woman, Virginia, with Alzheimer’s who strangely may have the answers he needs. A team of Angels Walking take on the mission to see hope restored for Tyler, Sami and Virginia. “Angels Walking” is also available as a Book on CD.

Other new fiction books are “Love Letters” by Debbie Macomber, “Since You’ve Been Gone” by Anouska Knight, “Windigo Island” by William Kent Krueger, “Light in the Shadows” by A. Meredith Walters, “Swan Point” by Sherryl Woods, “Don’t Look Back” by Gregg Hurwitz, “Her Last Whisper” by Karen Robards, “Lisette’s List” by Susan Vreeland and “Personal” by Lee Child. Neil Gaiman’s “The Truth in a Cave in the Black Mountains: a Tale of Travel and Darkness with Pictures of All Kinds” is among new graphic novels.

“Freeing Your Child From Anxiety” by Tamar E. Chansky joins “What I Know For Sure” by Oprah Winfrey and “The Day the Whistle Blew: the Life & Death of the Stansbury Coal Camp” by Marilyn Nesbit Wood in the new non-fiction section.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “I, Even Funnier” by James Patterson, “Tyra, the Designer Fairy” by Daisy Meadows and “Legend of the Ghost Dog” by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel. Some new easy titles are “Amazing Spiderman 2: Fully Charged” by Brittany Candau, “Spidey’s New Costume” by Thomas Macri and “Falcon Takes Flight” by Adam Davis.
