We are sorry to announce that the program scheduled for Wednesday, June 10 with “Mr. Billy” has been cancelled due to illness.

Thursday, June 11 the library is pleased to present Deborah Jiang-Stein, author of the memoir, Prison Baby. The program begins at 6 p.m. with a light meal and conversation with Jiang-Stein. Her memoir, Prison Baby, is described as “One woman’s struggles — beginning with her birth in prison — to find self-acceptance, proving that redemption and healing are possible, even from the darkest corners.” For more than 10 years, Deborah has championed support for people in need of freedom, life skills development, education, shelter, and career building. Prison Baby. is available to check-out from the library and through the Virtual Library. Plan to attend this informative program!

A new novel by James Patterson is “Miracle at Augusta.” Travis McKinley, an unknown golfing amateur, shocked the world by winning the PGA Senior Open at Pebble Beach. Now he’s famous and makes a living playing the game he loves; but he can’t help feeling that he’s an imposter who doesn’t deserve his success – a series of disappointments and personal screw ups could prove him right. New nonfiction books are “Bill O’Reilly’s Legends & Lies: the Real West” by David Fisher and “Four Years in the Mountains of Kurdistan, 1915-1919: an Armenian Boy’s Memoir of Survival” by Aram Haykaz.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “Stink Moody in Master of Disaster” by Megan McDonald, “The Curse of the King” by Peter Lerangis and “Logan Pryce Makes a Mess” by Grace Gilmore. A few new easy books are “The Mystery of the Pirate Bell” by Maya Mackowiak Elson, “Magic Friends” by Chelsea West and “Pitter and Patter” by Martha Sullivan.
