“Man’s Search for Meaning” by Victor Frankl will be discussed on Monday, February 1 at 6 p.m. This is the first book in a four book series, other titles include: “The Happiness Project,” “The Alchemist” and “The Prophet.” Wayne Deahl returns to lead the discussions. Stop by the library to register and pick up copies of the books.

The first of three Reading is Fun (RIF) programs will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 p.m. Reading is Fun is a literacy-based program sponsored by the Friends of the Library with support from NCHS’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Each event includes a program, craft, snack and the opportunity for children to select their own book to keep.

A new novel by Jayne Ann Krentz is “Secret Sisters.” Madeline and Daphne were once as close as sisters – until a secret tore them apart. Now that secret might take them to their graves. Unable to trust the police, security expert, Jack Rayner, who also possesses a specific skill that helps him understand warped and dangerous minds and his brother, Abe, a high-tech magician join forces with Madeline and Daphne. The four form an uneasy alliance against an enemy who will stop at nothing to hide the truth.

Other new fiction books include “All Dressed in White” by Mary Higgins Clark, “Warheart” by Terry Goodkind, “Stars of Fortune” by Nora Roberts, “Career of Evil” by Robert Galbraith, “The Banquet of Consequences” by Elizabeth George, “Front Runner” by Felix Francis, “Sidney Sheldon’s Reckless” by Tilly Bagshawe, “The Guilty” by David Baldacci and “Angel of Storms” by Trudi Canavan. Roland Smith’s newest YA title, “The Edge” is now available along with the second installment in the Lone City series, “The White Rose” by Amy Ewing.

“Healing Traumatized Children: Navigating Recovery for Children with Turbulent Pasts” by Faye L. Hall is among new non-fiction along with “The Vitamix Cookbook: 250 Delicious Whole Food Recipes to Make in Your Blender” by Jodi Berg and “Free-Motion Quilting Idea Book” by Amanda Murphy.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books, “The Wishing Spell” by Chris Colfer, “Fast Break” by Mike Lupica and “Appleblossom the Possum” by Holly Goldberg Sloan. A few of the new picture books include “Mr. Putter & Tabby Smell the Roses” by Cynthia Rylant, “Little Penguin Gets the Hiccups” by Tadgh Bentley and “The Quilt that Gave a Hug” by Phyllis Kaldenberg.
