Investment Series at the Library

Edward Jones Financial Advisor Ryan Yung will present a series of presentations about investing at the library this winter. Each workshop will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and participants will each receive a workbook that covers the series. Please call the library at 307-334-3490 to register for the series.

The first workshop, “Rules of the Road” on Thursday, January 16 will provide participants with 10 principles for sound investing and also discusses how to identify and avoid the most common investment mistakes.

Beginning Thursday, February 13at 5:30 p.m. a 4-class series will begin with “Foundations of Investing” which is an educational program featuring an overview of investing, including key terms and Investment types. This program covers the basic features of bonds, stocks, and mutual funds, and the importance of asset allocation. “Stocks: The Nuts & Bolts” will be presented on Thursday, February 27. Stocks may play a major role as investors try to reach their long-term financial goals. This presentation shares basic information to help investors evaluate how this type of investment may fit into an overall strategy. Stocks: The Nuts and Bolts looks at common versus preferred stock, dividends, investment strategy and different ways to own stock. Thursday, March 12 “An Investor’s Tour of Mutual Funds” will be the topic. Mutual funds may play a major role as investors try to reach their long-term financial goals and provides a detailed look at the features, benefits and risk associated with this type of investment as well as a map to mutual fund selection. On March 26 the series concludes with “Focus on Fixed Income.” This program covers bond characteristics and features as well as key strategies to get the most out of one’s fixed-income investments.
