Storyhour continues all summer long at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, LegoTime is also held on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. followed by Read with Delilah at 2 p.m. Crafting is held through the end of June on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and movies are held each Thursday at 1 p.m. We have several live performers scheduled this summer and some of those programs will be held instead of the weekly events.



The Friends of the Library present Aaron Fowler in concert at the library on Tuesday, June 3 at 1 p.m. Aaron and his dog Kuumba will share an exciting program of music and stories, and a little bit of dancing that is sure to brighten your day and lift your spirits. There will be plenty of dog kisses and petting for those that want to greet Kuumba!


Mark your calendar for the Comic Art Workshop on Thursday June 12 when Jerry and Chet of Do Art Productions explore the different languages of comics – from the eyes, to body posture, to the language within speech bubbles, held from 1-3 p.m. The workshop is interactive and creative with tricks and turns – and, after seeing how easy cartooning and creative expression can be, a group comic will be created with characters and creativity from the first half of the program!

“Hidden Smoke” is Lee Goldberg’s latest novel. Walter Sharpe and Andrew Walker are hunting a serial killer who has caused dozens of apartment buildings to erupt in flames. Then a catastrophic fire destroys a major freeway. Desperate for help, they call homicide detectives Eve Ronin and Duncan Pavone. The four detectives must quickly figure out whether the freeway disaster was a tragic accident – or the work of a mastermind with a horrific plan.

Johnstone, “Death by Chocolate Pumpkin Muffin” by Sarah Graves, “Hardly a Gentleman” by Eloisa James, “Telephone” by Percival Everett, “Shadow of the Solstice” by Anne Hillerman and “Sunflower Cottage on Heart Lake” by Sarah Robinson. “Clown in a Cornfield” by Adam Cesare is among new YA titles.
New nonfiction books include “Home of the Happy: a Murder on the Cajun Prairie” by Jordan LaHaye Fontenot, “Children of Radium: a Buried Inheritance” by Joe Dunthorne and “Rethink Your Position: Reshape Your Exercise, Yoga, and Everyday Movement, One Part at a Time” by Katy Bowman.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “The Cartoonist Club” by Raina Telgemeier, “Charlie Thorne and the Lost City” by Stuart Gibbs plus “The Kitty Tuber” series by Darcy Pattison. New easy books include “Sleepy Snuggles” by Diana Murray, “Happy Father’s Day from the Crayons” by Drew Daywalt and “The Bad Idea and Other Stories” by Greg Pizzoli.
