Call 307-334-3490 to register for Paint @ the Library which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14 from 1-3 p.m. The Halloween painting will be fun for everyone!

The library is pleased to present Peter Fletcher, an American classical guitarist based in Detroit and New York City in concert on Sunday, October 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church, 120 E. 5th St., Lusk, WY. Peter offers a solo recital that is audience friendly, including a repertoire that runs the gamut from the Renaissance Period through the 20th Century. Also, he will be promoting a new CD – Peter Fletcher in Concert as well as an all-Bach album. Fletcher returns to Carnegie Hall in April 2027. Library events are free and open to the public, plan to attend!

Barbara O’Neal’s latest novel is entitled “A Thousand Painted Hours.” In the shadows of the London Blitz, artist Elsie Turner clings fiercely to her canvases. The bombs test her nerve, but the struggle also stirs memories of her golden youth in India and of the long-lost love of her life. As past and present collide, the most impossible choices and sacrifices are to be made in the name of love, war, and survival.

Other new fiction books are “The True Meaning of Love” by Danielle Steel, “His Amish Sweetheart” by Jennifer Beckstrand, “Birds of Prey: New Crime Stories” edited by Harlan Coben & C. J. Box, “The One Who Walked Away” by Karen Rose, “The Shadow Friends” by Tess Gerristen and “Deceptions” by Jeffery Deaver. A new young adult book is “As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow” by Zoulfa Katouh.

Among the newer non-fiction books is “One Year or the Rest of Your Life” by Herman L. “Butch” Peace, Jr. and “Android Phone Guide for Seniors” by Smarttech Pros.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior novels “Pumpkin Apocalypse” by M. D. Payne and “Squished” by Megan Wagner Lloyd. Newer easy books include “Halloween Trampoline” by Scott Rothman, “Monsters Are the Worst” by Alex Willan, “Zebra and Yak, the Backwards Counting Book” by Paul Friedrich, “The Pigeon Won’t Play With Shapes” by Mo Willems and “America, I’m So Glad You Were Born” by Ainsley Earhardt.

“Trick or Treat!” is the theme for Storyhour on October 13, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
