Jeanine Cummins’ latest novel is “Speak to Me of Home.” When Rafaela marries in Puerto Rico in 1968, she has no way of knowing how dramatically her life will change when she uproots her family to start over in the American Midwest. In the 1980’s her daughter, Ruth lets go of the language habits and memories of Puerto Rico to blend in. It is not until decades later when Ruth’s daughter, Daisy, returns to Puerto Rico that Rafaela and Ruth begin to reflect on the choices that have come to define their lives. “Speak to Me of Home” is available on CD and digitally in Libby.
