The Friends of the Library are excited to bring Ann Lincoln’s Foam on the Range back to Lusk with Foam Party on Tuesday, August 5 at 6 p.m. The event is scheduled to be held on the north side of the library and in the Lusk State Bank parking lot. The Friends will have root beer floats available and everyone is encouraged to wear suitable clothing or swimming attire, be sure to bring a towel, goggles if you like and maybe some dry clothes. The foam is clean, fresh, biodegradable and hypo-allergenic – and guaranteed to generate laughter and fun!

“The Girls Who Grew Big” is the title of a novel by Leila Mottley. When 16-year-old Adela Wood’s parents learned she was pregnant, they sent her to her grandmother in Florida. There she encounters a group of young moms known as the “Girls,” who are raising their children in the back of a red truck. The town thinks the “Girls” have lost their way, but in reality, they are finding it. “The Girls Who Grew Big” is also available digitally in Libby.

“Belle Star: the Truth Behind the Wild West Legend” by Michael Wallis and “Creative Zigzag Rope Sewing Projects: 16 Projects and a Dozen Techniques for Making Bowls, Totes, and More” by Denise Haar are now on the new non-fiction shelf.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “Cat on the Run in Hidden Layers” by Aaron Blabey and “Right on Your Tail” by Cam Higgins. Newer easy books are “The Riding Lesson” by Jennifer K. Mann, “The Wild Robot on the Island” by Peter Brown, “Grace Builds an (Almost-Perfect) Dog” by Curtis Manley and “Night Light” by Michael Emberley.
