There is still space in the library’s afterschool program! “Out West” is the theme on Tuesday for children in grades K-2 and “It’s Rocky, Earth Science” on Thursday for grades 3-6. These programs continue until the week of October 20, call the library at 307-334-3490 to register your children.



Krispy Kreme Doughnuts return! A dozen glazed is $12 and a dozen mixed-frosted is $13. Doughnuts will be available to pick up on Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 a.m. Call the library to place your order, contact library foundation members or plan to place your order with FBLA members.
Miss Tina is planning a fun “Johnny Appleseed” Pajama Storyhour on Wednesday, September 10 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Children will enjoy stories, crafts & activities. Plan to bring your children!



Paint @ the Library, celebrating Hat Creek’s 150th anniversary, will feature a stagecoach painting on Wednesday, September 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Call the library to register; children under the age of 10 should be accompanied by an adult. Library programs are free and open to the public.
Lisa Scottoline’s newest novel is “The Unraveling of Julia.” One awful night Julia witnessed the murder of her husband during a mugging. Later she is shocked to discover that his death was predicted by her horoscope. She becomes obsessed with astrology, fearing that her fate is written in the stars – not her own hands. Then she learns that she has inherited a fortune, a Tuscan villa and a vineyard. Since Julia had been adopted, she heads to Tuscany for answers, but her search for her identity becomes a harrowing struggle for sanity and survival. “The Unraveling of Julia” is also available digitally in Libby.

“On Her Game: Caitin Clark and the Revolution in Women’s Sports” by Christine Brennan and “The Last American Road Trip” by Sarah Kendzior are now on the new non-fiction shelf.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “The Blossoming Summer” by Anna Rose Johnson and “Fishing on Thin Ice” by Art Coulson. Among the newer picture books are “Cats in Construction Hats” by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen, “The Gingerbread Kid Goes to School” by Joan Holub, “A Book of Maps for You” by Lourdes Heuer and “Moms” by Emily Snape.
“Foil Painting!” is the theme for Storyhour on September 2, 2025. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story! Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
