You won’t want to miss the concert on Friday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m. The high-endergy duo “Bettman & Halpin” will keep you entertained. The event will be held at the Congregational Church, 120 E. 5th St., Lusk. Library programs are free and open to the public.
The first film in the “Organized Crime” Dinner & Movie series is “Gotti” and will be shown on Monday, August 31 at 6 p.m. “Gotti” tells the story of the ‘Teflon Don’ – who rose through the ranks of the criminal underworld to become the head of the Gambino crime family and the most famous mobster in America – until it all came crashing down. The film is rated R and is 118 minutes. A light meal will be available.



Plan for fun on Friday, September 11 with a “Bead Art Workshop”at1 p.m.The workshop is presented by Do Art Productions and attendees will create characters, animals, and jewelry of all kinds and colors with all styles of beads. Everyone will go home with their own creations and fashion from little axolotls and crew mates. Fun for all ages, a movie will not be shown.

“The Great Wherever” is the title of a novel by debut author Shannon Sanders. When Aubrey Lamb learns she has inherited a stake in a sizable Tennessee farm. she sees an opportunity to get out of the city and erase a mounting pile of debt. Watching her are four ghosts – her ancestors who have never hesitated to pass judgment on the mistakes made by the living. Now with a potential sale of the farm, the ghosts fear expulsion from the home they have made – and they are not averse to interference. “The Great Wherever” is also available in Libby.

Among the newer non-fiction books is “Sisters of the Midnight Sun: a Murder in Arctic Alaska” by Rebecca Wright Stevens.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “Sherlock Roach and the Case of the Crunchy Crumb” by Joe McGee and “Just One Gift” by Linda Sue Parks. Among the newer easy books are “Where is Pierre?” by Emma Clarke, “Bear for a Day” by Corey R. Tabor, “Biscuit Loves the Library” by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and “I Love You Rain or Shine” by Danielle McLean.
“Community Helper Day” is the theme for Storyhour on September 1, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
