Tuesday, June 12 the library will host author, Lee M. Cullimore for a discussion about his book, The Boys of Company K: Ohio Cavalry Soldier in the West During the Civil War.” The book is told largely through the writings of three soldiers. The men volunteered to fight in the Civil War but instead they were sent to Fort Laramie to guard the trails and telegraph lines and to build remote outposts around southern Wyoming. This brown bag lunch begins at noon and participants are invited to bring their lunch.
Thursday, June 14 the Thursday afternoon movie will be The Adventures of TinTin. TinTin is an intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure against the nefarious Red Rockham. The film begins at 1:30 p.m. and is 107 minutes and rated PG. The library will provide popcorn but attendees need to bring their own beverage.

A new thriller is “Bone House” by Brian Freeman. Hilary and Mark Bradley are trapped in a web of suspicion. Accusations of a torrid affair with a student cost Mark his teaching job and made the couple outcasts. Now a teenage girl is found dead on a deserted beach – and once again Mark faces a hostile town convinced of his guilt. Several of Brian Freeman’s older books are also available.

A new title for the young adult is “Bitterblue” by Kristin Cashore.
New non-fiction books are “The Red Circle: My Life in the Navy Seal Sniper Corps and How I Trained America’s Deadliest Marksmen” by Brandon Webb, “Shiloh: 1862” by Winston Groom and “The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods” by Hank Haney.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books: “Ruby Redfort: Look Into My Eyes” by Lauren Child, “Summer on the Moon” by Adrian Fogelin and “McKenna” by Mary Casanova. Also available are: “The Penguin Lady” by Carol A. Cole and “Zero the Hero” by Joan Holub.
